The "Year of Dragon Edition" takes inspiration from the Dragon's Back, a scenic trail located in Shek O. Starting from the To Tei Wan Village, it passes through the D'Aguilar Peak and ends at Big Wave Bay, making it the final section of the Hong Kong Trail. The Dragon's Back derives its name from the undulating peaks that resemble a flying dragon, exuding a majestic aura. In 2004, it was recognized as the "Best Urban Hiking Trail in Asia" by Time Asia.

The three characters "龍脊行" representing the Dragon's Back are inspired by the Chinese idiom "short hikes or walks to start the new year with good luck." The design encourages people to gather with their close friends and enjoy the beauty of nature, allowing them to unwind and relieve the stresses of daily life. The characters are based on pictographic script, with the character "dragon" featuring prominent horns and tail, symbolizing nobility and auspiciousness. The character "back" is formed by three people walking together, representing companionship and friendship. The flying dragon depicted in the design was created and illustrated by a local artist, capturing the dynamic essence of the Dragon's Back's undulating peaks and the dragon's soaring presence.
