《 The Peak 》
The Peak (also known as Victoria Peak) - located in the western part of Hong Kong Island, 552 meters above sea level, is the highest peak of Hong Kong Island. While Lion Rock symbolizes the "Hong Kong spirit" of struggle and perseverance, Victoria Peak represents the prosperity and achievement of the "Pearl of the Orient". With its rich historical background, The Peak also has different aliases, of which the most widely known is “Raise-flag Hill" and "Victoria Peak”. To date, "The Peak" has become an important landmark of Hong Kong with a scenic night view renowned worldwide.
【Our Design】
The cup's name "BENEATH Victoria Peak" recalls the social divide of colonial Hong Kong, when Westerners lived atop the Peak and Chinese resided at the foot of the mountain. Yet Chinese society came together to overcome challenges, exemplifying the Hong Kong spirit of resilience and unity.
The design aims to invoke that same spirit today, as Hongkongers face new difficulties. By reminding you of Victoria Peak every time you hold the cup, it serves as a symbol of Hong Kong's perseverance - just like the Peak that towers above the city's hustle and bustle, representing Hong Kong's can-do spirit in your hands.
The sky blue body represents Victoria Peak overlooking Victoria Harbour, creating a picturesque vista of the "sky and sea in one". Chinese folk belief holds that Victoria Peak lies along Hong Kong's "dragon vein" that channels positive energy and wealth from the Kowloon Peninsula to the "treasure house" direction of "accumulating wealth" - HSBC Bank.
The color of the cup is not electroplated, but created by high heat coloring to change the color of the titanium metal. The double-wall design of the cup not only insulates heat but also prevents burns.
【The origin of its 太平山 “taai3 ping4 saan1”】
In the early 18th century, piracy was rampant, and among them, the most well-known pirate was Cheung Po Tsai.
Once when Pirate Cheung Po was defeated and surrendered to the government, the fishermen of Hong Kong Island believed that they could have peace, so they renamed "Hardhead Mountain" (the ancient name of Victoria Peak) to 太平山“taai3 ping4 saan1” (literal meaning: Peace Mountain).
In 1841, when Hong Kong was opened, after the British ruled Hong Kong in order to assert sovereignty, they hoisted the British flag on the top of The Peak, and it is said that the translator for the British at that time determined the Chinese name of the mountain as 扯旗山”Raise-flag Hill", some people also pointed out that in the early days when there was no modern weather forecasting equipment at the Observatory, so it had to send people to the top of The Peak frequently to use flags to measure wind speed, hence the name “Raise-flag Hill".
Today, the hiking map HM20C still names it in Chinese “Raise-flag Hill" and English "Victoria Peak".

Ebony wood is hard, lustrous, delicate to the touch, and is a top-grade timber material. It is often used for making furniture and piano keys. We hope that the brass inlay on the top can highlight the outlines of The Peak.
At the top, the brass is hand-polished and inlaid by craftsmen, so in addition to being practical, it also adds some delicacy. Whether in the gift set or as a collection, it is also a work of art.
Also known as "Raise-Flag Hill", thus this ebony lid specially inlaid with a flag on top of the Peak to represent the British flag hoisted or the flag that was used to measure wind speed.
