Big 5 Distance Post Coasters - 【Country Trails】
There are a total of 33 Country Trails in Hong Kong, mainly distributed in Lantau Island, the New Territories, and Hong Kong Island. The name of this trail is COUNTRY TRAIL, so the distance posts all start with "C", followed by four digits. The first two digits are the trail number. The first digit is divided according to the Country Park area, and the last two digits are the distance number. C3201 is the first distance post of Lung Ha Wan Country Trail. Since it is located in Clear Water Bay, the first digit of all distance post there is 3.

The first digit of the Country Trail number is divided according to the Country Park area, from 1 to 7:

'1' indicates the southern part of Lantau Island (South Lantau Country Park), with 8 trails;
'2' indicates the northeastern New Territories (Pat Sin Leng and Plover Cove Country Parks), with 7 trails;
'3' indicates Clear Water Bay and the central New Territories (Clear Water Bay, Ma On Shan, Tai Mo Shan and Kowloon Country Parks), with 4 trails;
'4' indicates Hong Kong Island (Tai Tam and Shek O Country Parks), with 3 trails;
'5' indicates Sai Kung (Sai Kung East and Sai Kung West Country Parks), with 5 trails;
'6' indicates the western New Territories (Tai Lam Country Park), with 5 trails;
'7' indicates the northern part of Lantau Island (North Lantau Country Park), with 1 trail;
Lung Ha Wan Country Trail starts from Tai Kok Tin and passes through Tai Leng Tung and Ping To Tin Shan. The end point is Lung Ha Wan, with a total length of about 3 km. Tai Leng Tung Viewing Platform is the highest point of Lung Ha Wan Country Trail. You can see breathtaking mountain and sea views here, including Tsoi Sze Wan, Ngau Chau Chau, Kau Chau Chau, Ding Ding Chau, Sha Tang Kau Shan, etc. In addition, the starting point Tai Kok Tin is a well-equipped country spot with viewing platforms, barbecue sites, pavilions and other leisure facilities. It is a popular spot for family outings.

The major Hong Kong trails are marked at 500-metre intervals for the purposes to identify hikers' position along the Country Trail. Hikers can easily communicate their estimated position in case of emergencies by spotting the nearest posts.
